Gourmet Cafe-Petitenget

Adelle Davis, an author and nutritionist once said "Breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper". With that in mind, for this Sunday breakfast we're heading to Gourmet Cafe to eat breakfast like a king..

Gourmet Cafe is managed by Bali Catering Company, a quite reputable company in the food business in Bali, which ensure you the quality of the foods served here. It has a large selection of breakfast and lunch menu.

They have indoor and outdoor seating.
The service is fast and good and all taxes are included in the price.

You can go crazy with sandwiches and salads here. They have a wide variety of breads, toppings and sides for your sandwich or salad.
You can practice your 'mix and match' skills without worrying what the outcome would be like. I am sure it will be delicious!

Omelette with chives, mushrooms, cheese, and whole wheat toast Rp 36.000

Breakfast Burrito.
Tortilla with omelet, bacon, sausage, hash brown, tomato salsa, caramelised onion and guacamole Rp 38.000
Quite creative! Taste wise, just as expected. Not so special for me :)

Quesadilla,
Tortilla with chicken, red and green pepper, jalapeno, tomato salsa, guacamole and sour cream Rp 48.000

Not like any quesadilla I've ever tasted. When the usual quesadilla is plain, this one is full of stuff! The tomato salsa threw me off at first since I've never seen nor tasted a tomatoey quesadilla but it gets better. And as I go through bite by bite it is actually quite delicious. But I still miss my old style, plain quesadilla with only cheese on it :)

For you with serious appetite, I recommend The Whole Nine Yards. It is a 40cm long Baguette with Roast beef, turkey, deli ham, wild ruccola, lettuce, artichoke, dried tomato, and baked capsicum. Enjoy!!

The Whole Nine Yards Rp 69.000

They also have cakes and good coffee to finish the breakfast suit for a king.

As I feared when I saw the display of desserts, my wife would not leave the place without tasting a dessert. She chose Millefeuille.
Millefeuille which means thousand leaf is made up of layers of puff pastry and cream.
According to the wife, it was heavenly! She ordered a couple more to bring home :)

Millefeuille Rp 20.000

Caffe latte with illy coffee,Rp 25.000

Warung Italia-Seminyak

Thursday afternoon, after picking up my wife from work, I was craving for Italian Food.
There are countless places here in Bali that serves Italian food from the basic "warung" (small eatery) to fancy restaurants.
But since it was a Thursday (day which we dont usually go out to eat) plus we are on a budget, we decided to go to Warung Italia in Seminyak. It is located on Kunti Street, the same road as Bali Deli.
It serves authentic (and did i mentioned delicious?) Italian Food at affordable price.
But it's quite challenging to find a parking spot if you drive. We usually choose to come from the Seminyak Street side rather than from the Sunset Road side.

We are no food expert, we don't know how to cook, we don't know all the fancy words...

We are just an ordinary local family who loves to eat, and willing to go an extra mile to find great food. So read along, and join us in this beautiful journey of taste, smell and sight...
