Warung Italia-Seminyak

Thursday afternoon, after picking up my wife from work, I was craving for Italian Food.

There are countless places here in Bali that serves Italian food from the basic "warung" (small eatery) to fancy restaurants.

But since it was a Thursday (day which we dont usually go out to eat) plus we are on a budget, we decided to go to Warung Italia in Seminyak.It is located on Kunti Street, the same road as Bali Deli.

It serves authentic (and did i mentioned delicious?) Italian Food at affordable price.

But it's quite challenging to find a parking spot if you drive. We usually choose to come from the Seminyak Street side rather than from the Sunset Road side.

We come here for lunch quite often. Its quite cozy and clean.

They have a wide varieties of Italian foods, buffet style.

You may choose any number of dishes you desire from the selection then they will serve it on a plate (or plates) for you.

The drawback is of course the food is not always warm but i believe you can ask the staff to heat it up for you.

They also have many other selections that are freshly cooked like pastas and pizzas.

Hmm.. octopus! One of my favorite! I have never survived leaving this place without ordering this particular dish :) It's cooked just right (not overcooked which makes it hard), drizzled with olive oil and it is very refreshing with the lemony taste in it. Simply delicious!

Lasagna.

This actually is my first time ordering lasagna from Warung Italia. My wife absolutely loved it (left only a couple bites for me just for a taste :))

As for myself, I think it's pretty good. Of course it could be better if it was fresh from the oven, but it is still acceptable.

Chicken Mushroom. My wife always get this every time we come here.

Quoting Joey Tribiani from the sitcom 'Friends', "Chicken... good. Mushroom... good." And its creamy! My wife thinks there is nothing else needed :)

Of course with any meals you need your veggies.

From Warung Italia, I highly recommend the green beans and the spinach (sorry... no picture)

But my favorite is spaghetti aglio e olio. It is a simple dish but very tasty.

The combination of garlic, dried chili, parmesan and olive oil are just perfect.
